2. Licence of Alamarte extensions

Alamarte extensions for Joomla! are distributed under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later (GPL v3 or later), unless a separate file included in a package expressly specifies a different compatible licence where legally appropriate.

The LICENSE.txt file, the licence notices included in the code and the manifest of each extension identify the licence applicable to the distributed software.

These commercial terms do not replace, reduce or add restrictions incompatible with the rights granted by the GPL.

3. Rights granted by the GPL

Under the terms of the applicable GPL, anyone who receives a copy of an extension covered by that licence may, among other rights:

• Use the software for any purpose permitted by the licence.
• Study and modify the code.
• Make and distribute copies.
• Distribute modified versions in compliance with the obligations established by the GPL.

Purchasing a product does not limit these rights to a specific number of domains, installations or devices.

4. Commercial services associated with the purchase

Unless the product page for an Alamarte Pro extension specifies different conditions, the purchase includes twelve (12) months of access to updates and support from the date of purchase.

These commercial services are separate from the rights to use, modify and redistribute the software granted by the GPL.

The expiry of the purchased commercial period does not modify the software licence or remove any rights the user has already acquired over the copy received.

5. Registered site for updates and support

Initially, the purchase of an Alamarte Pro extension includes automatic updates and support for one (1) registered website, unless the product page expressly specifies another plan.

This condition governs only the provision of these commercial services. It does not limit the number of websites on which GPL code may be installed, used, modified or redistributed.

If plans for multiple websites are offered in the future, each plan will clearly indicate the number of installations covered by the automatic update and support service.

6. Update keys and credentials

Alamarte may use keys, tokens or other authentication mechanisms to verify that an account has current access to commercial download, automatic update or support services.

These credentials are not a licence required to run the extension and must not prevent an already installed copy from continuing to operate when the purchased commercial period ends.

The credential assigned to an account must not be published or shared in order to obtain commercial services for additional installations not covered by the corresponding purchase.

A credential may be replaced, blocked or regenerated where there is evidence of public exposure, fraud, abuse of the service or a security risk. This measure will affect access to the commercial service and not the rights granted over the code by the GPL.

7. Expiry and renewal

Renewal of commercial services is optional.

When the purchased period ends:

• The installed extension will continue to operate.
• Installed functions will not be removed or blocked solely because the service has expired.
• The user will retain the version of the software they received.
• Access to new updates protected through Alamarte services will end.
• Support included with the purchase will end.

A subsequent renewal will restore the corresponding services for the new purchased period in accordance with the conditions in force at the time of renewal.

8. Modification and redistribution

The GPL permits modification and redistribution of the software in accordance with its terms. When a modified version is distributed, the applicable licence obligations must be observed, including the appropriate notices regarding the modifications made.

A version modified, derived or redistributed by third parties must not be presented in a way that could lead users to believe that it is an official version published, reviewed or endorsed by Alamarte Engineering when this is not the case.

Alamarte is not required to provide support for versions modified by third parties or copies whose structure or operation has been altered outside the official versions supplied by Alamarte.

9. Trade name and visual identity

The GPL licence applicable to the code does not itself grant rights over the trade name Alamarte Engineering, its logos, graphic elements or visual identity used to identify the official origin of products and services.

The use of these elements must not create confusion regarding the origin, authorship, approval, support or relationship of a modified or redistributed version with Alamarte Engineering.

This provision does not restrict authorship, copyright or attribution notices that must be retained under the applicable licence.

10. Third-party components and dependencies

An extension may use libraries, services, APIs or other components developed by third parties. These elements will retain their respective licences, terms and conditions where applicable.

Compatibility with a particular extension, template, external service or version of Joomla! will be limited to what is stated in the documentation and product page.

Purchasing an Alamarte extension does not grant licences, subscriptions or rights to third-party services that must be obtained independently.

11. Scope of support

Support included with an Alamarte Pro extension is intended for the operation of the official version of the product within environments declared as compatible.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, support does not include:

• Development of custom functionality.
• Modification of third-party extensions.
• General administration of the customer's website.
• Correction of problems caused exclusively by incompatible external software or services.
• Support for versions of Joomla!, PHP or other requirements expressly declared as incompatible.

When a problem may be related to a defect in the official extension, it will be reviewed within the scope of the purchased support service.

12. Updates

During the active commercial period, the purchaser may access the versions available for the product in accordance with the purchased plan.

An update may include fixes, improvements, compatibility adjustments, security changes or new features. The availability of a version does not imply indefinite compatibility with older versions of Joomla!, PHP, third-party extensions or external services.

Before updating a production website, it is recommended to have a recent backup and to check the requirements and changes indicated for the new version.

13. Warranties and consumer rights

Warranty disclaimers or limitations contained in a free software licence will be interpreted without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights that apply under applicable law.

These terms are not intended to exclude legal obligations that cannot validly be limited by contractual agreement.

14. Relationship between the licence and commercial terms

For the purpose of determining rights over an extension's code, the licence included with the software and the corresponding licence notices will prevail.

The purchase terms and these conditions govern associated commercial services such as access to downloads, automatic updates, support and renewals.

No provision of these conditions should be interpreted as an additional restriction incompatible with the GPL.

15. Updates to these terms

These conditions may be updated to reflect changes in products, commercial services, update mechanisms, support policies or legal requirements.

The commercial conditions applicable to a purchase will be those in force and accepted at the time the purchase is made, without prejudice to rights granted directly by the software licence and any mandatory applicable rules.
